US thanks India for hosting the Dalai Lama

Dharamsala, November 24 - The United States has thanked India for extending hospitality to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, a statement that is likely to anger China, which views the revered Tibetan leader as a "separatist".

Japanese PM reportedly said to meet with His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama sent a message to the visiting Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama through a group of Japanese lawmakers Sunday saying he is hoping to meet with His Holiness again, group sources said. Hatoyama avoided directly meeting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, apparently considering Japanese relations with China, which sees the Buddhist leader as a separatist trying to tear Tibet from Chinese rule. Mining project in Tibet puts human lives and environment in jeopardy

Dharamshala: Feeling grave danger to both human lives and animals because of the toxic waste from the mining work in Meldro Gungkar located near Tibet's capital Lhasa, the local Tibetan residents from Gyami township have filed a petition urging the Chinese authorities to put an immediate halt to the mining project.

Finally, the moment had come to choose who will be the 58th Miss Universe! Beautiful women from 84 countries competed for the title that Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela held. Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas was hot with anticipation at the opening of the program. People had their own favourites which they cheered for as the night went on. However, out of 84, only one will be chosen to wear the Miss Universe crown so, bit by bit, some of the contestants did not make it to the Top 15 finalists.
